A new report has surfaced on Friday, saying that "Halo 5: Guardians" will not include a voting system which will help players determine what map comes up next. This new detail was confirmed and announced via Twitter by 343 Industries executive producer Josh Holmes.
"No voting or veto, just straight rotation," Holmes said, in response to a question raised by a fan. Holmes answer suggests that players will likely be cycled via the game's various multiplayer maps, a report from IGN said on Friday.
"In prior 'Halo' games, the voting system would often result in players returning to the same map, match after match, because of its popularity. As such, it's likely 343i has decided to go with a rotation system in order to ensure players are exposed to the game's variety of different maps," the report stated.
Gamespot reports that 343 Industries' Holmes did not provide additional details with regards to the game's map rotation system. However, it was noted that further details will be announced soon as "Halo 5: The Guardian's" release date draws near, which is scheduled on Oct. 27. Avid players are expecting that the game's multiplayer mode will offer more variety by eliminating voting.
It added that the game's multiplayer mode spans some traditional components, including the massive-scale Warzone. Aside from these, it was noted that the game will ship only 20 maps, while 15 more maps are expected to come via DLC before June 2016.
It was previously announced that Microsoft will roll out each DLC for free to avoid dividing players into groups, a problem that the company claims is steadily increasing for shooters over the years.
IGN also noted that the game will not feature "Big Team Battle" during the game's official launch date in October. However, 343 Industries claims that it intends to add it at some point in the future. "The same can't be said for split-screen, however, as there are no plans to add support for that particular feature," the report said.
