The fifth season of the heart stopping horror show is preparing to bring back chills to our spine. The American Horror Story, produced by Ryan Murphy, will be hitting the TV screens on Oct. 7 on FX.
The new trailer is only 30 seconds. The teaser, called "Hallways," does provide a glimpse of Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett and more of this season's cast members.
The upcoming season will feature both familiar and new faces, including Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Max Greenfield.
The most notable part of the trailer is the hotel owner Elizabeth played by Lady Gaga.
Murphy teases to CBC that "she owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out of the course of the season."
Murphy also teases that some former stars of the hit horror series will have a cameo role. "You will see people from various seasons check into the hotel," said Murphy.
For Murphy making "American Horror Story" is "one of the great joys of my life."
"It's exhausting at the end of a season but I'm so energized by it every year because it does reboot and the actors and the stars are so cool and I have a real passion for that," he said.
He also stays zealous by casting a company of actors like Bomer and Paulson, who he regards as friends.
"I've directed all of these actors in different incarnations and from it comes this great shorthand and I think they know that they are safe because we've worked together. They've seen other things that we've done, they feel protected," he said.
AHS-Hotel have made series of teasers for the public but, just recently, they also released their very first cast trailer.
