Five Seconds of Summer's (5SOS) Luke Hemmings revealed that he has a secret connection with Taylor Swift. In a recent interview with Seventeen magazine, Hemmings dished that he and Swift share something in common.
Like the "Blank Space" hitmaker, Hemmings claimed that he draws inspiration in writing his songs through his personal experiences. He said that he and Swift share the same habits when penning new songs for their albums, according to Design & Trend. The 19-year-old crooner said that he and his bandmates, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin, write their songs based on their romantic experiences.
"I think we try and write about our personal experiences," Hemmings told Seventeen magazine. "The only way to be original in your songwriting is to write about your own experiences, and I think that's what we try to do as a band."
Swift, who's currently dating the Scottish songwriter and DJ Calvin Harris, is well-known for creating hit tracks based from her past relationships. She did it when she split with One Direction's Harry Styles, John Mayer, Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal and "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner, according to UnrealityTV.
She wrote "Forever & Always" and "Last Kiss" for Jonas and "Back to December," an apology song, was suspected to be for Lautner, whom she broke up with. After a failed relationship with Gyllenhaal, she reportedly penned "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "State of Grace," "All Too Well," "Girl at Home" and "The Moment I Knew" after he parted ways with her through text message.
Meanwhile, Hemmings just finished writing their next album titled, "Sounds Good Feels Good" which is due to be out in October. "She Looks So Perfect," "Amnesia" and "She's Kinda Hot, are just some of the band's hit singles.
