American fashion Mogul, Marc Jacobs is vacating his New York apartment, which will be offered up for rent from March 1, 2013, with a monthly charge of $37,500.
According to the Daily mail, the famous designer had rented the 40 Mercer Street Building condo for $30,000 per month from 2009 when he moved into the place with his now ex-boyfriend, Lorenzo Martone.
The 40 Mercer Street building was created by architect Andrez Blazaz and designed by famed designer Jean Nouvel. The 14-story building has been home to many popular celebrities like Meg Ryan and Daniel Radcliffe, who purchased a condo for around $4.3 million. However, Radcliffe is renting out the apartment for $20,000 per month now.
Jacobs' condo is a three bedroom, three and a half bathroom place spread across an area of 2476 square feet. The place features floor-to-ceiling windows and custom cabinetry. A huge living room, an office/ study and a roomy foyer make up the interiors. The master suite sports massive walk-in closets. The home is fully furnished with designer fittings and fixtures. A gourmet kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances also adds to the luxury features, reports Curbed.
Jacobs' primary residence is in Paris, France. Now that Jacobs is vacating the apartment, he might be moving back to the West Village townhouse, which was flooded by hurricane Sandy. He had then sought shelter in an Upper East Side hotel: Hotel Plaza Athénée, while designer That Hayes helped him restore the place.
Jacobs was recently appointed the creative director of Diet coke. He features "topless" in the brand new advertisement of the beverage giant. He will be designing new cans of the product and will oversee the quality of the brand.
Meanwhile, Jacob's show on the New York Fashion Week has been postponed due to fabric and accessories delivery issues. The show will now be held on Feb 14, 2013.
