Tatum O’Neal Bids Goodbye to her New York Condo

The "Paper moon" Oscar winning actress, Tatum O'Neal, has bid farewell to her condo in the Forward Building on East Broadway, New York.

O'Neal purchased the condo back in 2006 for $1.42 million and has now sold the place for $1.72 million after renting it out for a brief period.

O'Neal put the condo up for rent in 2011 asking for a monthly fee of $6000 after failing to sell it for $1.4 million. More recently, in June 2012, the rent of the home hiked to $7000. O'Neal again listed the place for sale in September 2012 with an asking price of $1.65 million.

However, the home has sold for a profit to Daniel and Abby Ziluca, following a bidding war among some famous celebrities like Jesse Eisenberg and Rooney Mara, reports AZ Central.

The place was converted to a fully fledged apartment in 2006 by Ron Castello, a developer. Castello preserved most of the architectural details of the building which used to be a ten story office of the Jewish Daily Forward, designed by starchitect George Boehm in 1912, reports The Real Deal.

The residence spreads over an area of 1435 square feet comprising of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The home features a massive central room called the "great room" which features a plaster doe on the ceiling. The master bedroom has a cozy dressing room and an attached bathroom. A dine-in open kitchen along with a foyer also exists in the property. The condo is the only residence in the building that has direct elevator access, reports Curbed.

O'Neal lived in the residence until 2008. She was arrested for buying crack cocaine near the building. She checked into rehab again in August 2012 at Orange County, California, where her father, Ryan O'Neal pays her constant visits. The father-daughter relationship was strained since the last 25 years after Tatum had a fallout with him. They reconciled recently and have been trying to build the relationship, reports Daily mail.
