‘Key and Peele' Comedy Sketch Series Ends 5 Season-Run on a High Note

"Key and Peele" TV comedy sketch series came to an end after five seasons.

In a rare move for a hit TV series, "Key and Peele" has announced its fifth season would be the show's last, much to the dismay of many fans who think the duo of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are still on top of their comedic game.

According to The Atlantic, on top of Comedy Central's sketch offering, there were many long running TV shows that faced major changes this year like the retirement of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert taking over the spot of Letterman, and the end of sitcom Parks and Recreation.

In the same report of The Atlantic, the end of "Key and Peele" was called a big loss because of its originality and evident potential to have the staying power on TV. The show's hosts and creators Key and Peele are said to have two major reasons for ending the show: both of them have become heavily involved in movie projects and they wanted to finish while still on top. The finale episode showed the duo doing a throwback to their first ever sketch which has them both trying hard to find a place where their girlfriends can't hear them calling them a "bitch."

Meanwhile, New York Post said one of the show's biggest accomplishments is turning Key and Peele into household names. They even made a fan of President Obama who asked Key's character "Luther" the anger translator to be by his side in a White House Correspondents' dinner speech. However, the final season were not all hits but as what the duo has been doing all throughout their five seasons, Key and Peele's talent and incredible on-screen partnership make them deserving to be included among the greatest comic duos to ever grace television.
