Anne Hathaway reveals a surprising fact about her "The Intern" co-star Hollywood icon Robert De Niro. The no-nonsense actor on the big screen reportedly is an avid follower of "The Bachelor."
For more than 50 years, De Niro has played serious roles in films even in ones that are billed as comedy. As stern and fearsome as his characters always seem to be, there is no denying the fact that even hardcore actors like him can have a soft spot for a romantic reality series just like "The Bachelor." According to Vanity Fair, the 32-year-old "The Devil Wears Prada" star Hathaway shared "juicy" information about her co-star in the upcoming movie "The Intern." She said the 72-year-old actor loves "The Bachelor" and that he was delighted when he learned that ads for their film is being shown in between breaks for "Bachelor in Paradise."
In the same Vanity Fair report, Hathaway proved to reporters that she was not cooking up gossip fodder for the "Meet the Fockers" star. She took out her phone and shows them a line from an email exchange with De Niro and director Nancy Meyers saying, "You bet your ass I'm a big Bachelor fan!"
As it turned out, De Niro was not the only one in the "The Intern" cast and crew who loves watching the ABC reality series. Director Meyers also admits and shares how much she loves "The Bachelorette." "There is nothing more compelling," Meyers says. "I only fast-forward through group dates. The group date, I have to admit, I'm not that into. But the second they're alone with the two shots, then I know it's going to begin. There's no chance I'm fast-forwarding."
Meanwhile, in a post by Sydney Morning Herald, scenes from the recent episode of the "The Bachelor" were compared to "Meet the Fockers" in terms of intensity as Sam Wood is taken by the remaining girls to meet their families. There is no doubt De Niro is happy with the reference.
