All-New 2016 Honda Civic Leaked Ahead of Sept. 16 Web Reveal

Someone with a sharp eye -- a spy photographer perhaps? -- has spotted the new Honda Civic Sedan parked on a street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. According to Forbes, the photos of the new car immediately ended up on CivicX.com, a website for Civic enthusiasts, revealing the all new Civic and spoiling the special YouTube event that Honda cooked up for Sept. 16 launch of the car.

Based on the leaked photos, the new Civic is bigger than its predecessors, which creates speculations as to how long the company can still call the Civic a "compact" car. Its designs, according to Forbes, is a fusion of current Civic, Honda's upscale Acura line, with hints of Nissan's Maxima at the rear haunches. It seems to have LED lights and it looks like a top-trim Touring model.

CivicX.com says the four-door sedan has "boomerang" tail lights and sleek greenhouse which were included in the Civic Concept that was revealed at this year's New York International Auto Show.

Meanwhile, Forbes said the current market trend is not favorable to Honda's tenth generation Civic, as new buyers prefers to crossover vehicles and pickup trucks over conventional cars. Civic, perennially one of the country's most popular cars, has seen its sales decrease by 4 percent this year.

The all-new 2016 Civic's appearances in showrooms is yet to be announced, but it will reportedly feature Honda's turbocharged engines for the first time in the Civic. Honda proudly says, "The completely overhauled 2016 Civic receives the most ambitious remake in its 43-year history." There is also no statement yet if Honda will release an efficiency-maximized version.

The New Generation 2016 Honda Civic will be officially unveiled at the YouTube Space in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Meanwhile, the 2016 Honda Civic coupe will be released in winter and is expected to look even better.
