"Game of Thrones" has reportedly hired the services of Essie Davis to be part of the show's season 6 cast. The Australian actress is noted for her lead role in "The Babadook."
Another veteran actress is joining the "Game of Thrones" cast and she will make her appearance in season 6 of TV's most talked about series. According to Entertainment Weekly, the star of the 2014 horror movie "The Babadook" Davis will be part of the HBO original series for its upcoming season. She will reportedly play a cast member of a traveling theater in Braavos. She will be part of a play which will be called "The Bloody Hand." She and her group will perform a story version of the King's Landing which is set in Essos and the storyline revolving around the Lannisters and all the drama surrounding them. Davis will play the theatrical Cersei Lannister.
In the same report by Entertainment Weekly, Davis is not the only new addition to the "Game of Thrones" cast. While the production team is busy filming in North Ireland and Spain, names of new cast members leaked online by fans who were able to observe the set from up close and took photos as well. It was reported that Max Von Sydow will play the role of the "Three-Eyed Raven," Freddie Stroma as "Dickon Tarly," Pilou Asbaek as "Euron Greyjoy" and in undisclosed roles, Ian McShane and Richard E. Grant will also be in the season 6 lineup.
Meanwhile, Bustle has reported that "Game of Thrones" has won the Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Casting in a Drama Series. While this is no clear indication that the show is favored to win the Emmys' Outstanding Drama Series, it is a testament to how hard the crew and producers work to find the right people for the roles they need.
