Demi Lovato posted a selfie with her on again-off again bff, Selena Gomez on her Instagram and it looks like all is well with the two young divas.
The pair, who first became best friends when they were 7 on the set of "Barney & Friends," had a major unfollowing when Demi checked into rehab in 2010. A year later, they seemed to have kissed and make up, and were seen laughing and posing together at the 2011 Kids Choice Awards. In 2013, Demi guested on MTV, singing praises for Selena.
"She will always be close to my heart," the "Heart Attack" singer said.
Things took a turn for the worse after a year, when fans noticed that Demi has unfollowed Selena on Twitter and Instagram. Her cryptic tweet of a meme with the caption "Swimming away from your bullsh- bye bitch" sent fans wondering if it was about Selena. Shortly after that, she confirms their rift in an interview with Andy Cohen for "Watch What Happens Live," saying, "I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart."
Last August, fans got a glimpse of hope when they noted that Demi re-followed Selena on social media. Selena quickly reciprocated, greeting Demi on her birthday last Aug. 20, with a tweet that read, "IM so grateful you were born. #nomatterwhat #forever #haveTHEbestbday."
This Sept. 10 selfie of the two is the latest proof that they have put the past behind them and that their friendship is on again. The caption included the hashtags "#coolforthesummer" and "#sameoldlove," referring to her and Selena's respective current singles.
