It was a great loss for Hollywood, friends and most especially family when Paul Walker, then 40, died in a tragic car accident in 2013. He would have been 42 on Sept. 12. Meadow Walker, Paul's only child, made the most touching tribute for his birthday.
On Saturday, she posted on her Instagram page a childhood photo showing the late actor holding her. Then as a special gift for her father, she founded the Paul Walker Foundation, an organization that aims to protect oceans and wildlife and provide grants and scholarships to marine science students and researchers, according to E! Online.
"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions," Meadow, 16, opens up in the foundation's website. She then continues, "I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with others. I want to share that piece of him with the world. I am tremendously proud to be launching the Paul Walker Foundation on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father."
Furthermore, the website also says, "Paul Walker was best known for his acting career but his passion was the ocean. He studied marine biology and spent most of his free time in the ocean."
Paul's brother, Cody Walker who did stand-in work for Furious 7 following Paul Walker's death, spoke in behalf of the family about the plans to celebrate the late actor's birthday. He told E! Online, "We're going to keep it low-key for Paul's birthday. Hang out with the family and close friends, hopefully at the beach. Paul was a low-key kind of guy and loved the ocean, so it's pretty fitting."
The fans also paid tribute to Paul Walker. For the second year in a row, people around the world have been posting pictures of sunrise and sunset in honor of the actor, according to E! Online. Last year about 3,000 photos came from 90 countries according to a Jesse Brisendine who dubbed it as International Sunrise and Sunset Around the World Day.
