Prince William & Prince Harry are Up for Something for the Queen's Birthday Bash

Queen Elizabeth II just reached a milestone in her life when she became Britain's longest-reigning monarch this year, with 63 years and seven months' reign tucked under her crown. The next big event for Her Majesty, her 90th birthday on April 21.

While the Queen celebrated her recent occasion as just an ordinary day, People reported that her grandchildren have grand plans for her birthday next year. At the helm of the surprise are Prince William and Prince Harry.

The two princes, together with their cousin Peter Phillips, are organizing a massive street picnic for their grandmother. It will be held on June 12, just in time for spring. They have already secured an outdoor venue in London known as the Mall, and a good 10,000 people are expected to attend.

The royal affair, called "The Patron's Lunch," will feature the Queen's charities and organizations. According to its website, the guests will enjoy a "hamper-style lunch at tables positioned along the full length of The Mall, with entertainment and Union flags a plenty." Prince William and Prince Harry, who act as presidents of the event, hope to inspire the British people through the said street party.

A statement in its website reads: "It is hoped that The Patron's Lunch will inspire as many people as possible to host their very own Patron's Lunch in streets along the length and breadth of our nation and across the Commonwealth. These street parties will give local communities a chance to enjoy the fun whilst also providing an opportunity to raise funds directly for local initiatives and community programmes. We hope that people in Britain and across the Commonwealth will dust off their picnic tables and join us in celebrating this very special occasion."

Prior to the celebration, a thanksgiving service will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral on June 10, which is also Prince Philip's 95th birthday. On June 11, the Queen's annual birthday parade will take place.
