After the Season 3 finale, fans are waiting to find out if ABC will renew "Mistresses" for Season 4.
According to Christian Today, the ratings for the Season 3 finale were not at all overwhelming, and it could be one of the factors that the network will look at regarding the renewal or cancellation of the show.
According to the report, the Season 3 finale garnered an all-time low rating. It can be recalled that Season 3 revolved around the mystery killer of Luca (Noam Jenkins). Showrunners Rina Mimoun and K.J. Steinberg are still both hopeful that the show will be renewed for a fourth season. They both admitted that if they have known that it would be their last season, they could have chosen a different ending for the show.
Season 3 of "Mistresses" ended with a cliffhanger and it revolved around Joss' (Jes Macallan) fate. It was discovered that Luca's killer was Wilson (Jarod Joseph), who was Calista's (Jennifer Esposito) assistant and ex-lover. In the end of the episode, Wilson finds Joss and puts a gun to her head, leaving fans wondering if Joss was killed or not.
According to the International Business Times, showrunners revealed that if the show will be renewed for Season 4, Joss will be saved. Jess Macallan revealed in an interview that her character is very much alive and she even teased that she could have a possible future with Harry (Brett Tucker).
Steinberg also teased about the other characters in the show like April (Rochelle Aytes), who finally got her happy ending with her boyfriend Marc (Rob Mayes). However, fans are also reportedly waiting to find out if they will be getting married soon. Steinberg said that although there is a lot of chemistry between the two, there will still be a lot of conflict between them.
As of writing, ABC has not yet issued a statement regarding the show's renewal or cancellation.
