Possible Threats On Pope's Visit In America Uncovered!

The Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has confirmed that they have already "disrupted one particular case" of a threat to Pope Francis' visit in the United States next week, according to a report by People.

According to ABC News, Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas did not give out any specifics about that particular case but he said that he was just briefed by the Secret Service. McCaul told Martha Raddatz of ABC that, "The Pope is a very ... passionate man. He likes to get out with the people and with that comes a large security risk." He also added, "We are monitoring very closely threats against the pope as he comes into the United States. We have disrupted one particular case in particular, but as that date approaches, I think we're all very, being very vigilant to protect him as he comes into the United States."

His Holiness will be arriving in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 22, 2015. It has been announced last week that President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will meet Pope Francis when he lands in the U.S. soil. According to People, White House spokesman Eric Schultz said, "The President and the First Lady will greet His Holiness Pope Francis on his arrival at Joint base Andrews in the United States on Tuesday, September 22, 2015."

The papal's visit includes a White House visit, parade on his arrival and also a public apperance on the West Front of the Capitol. Pope Francis will also go to New York City on Sept. 25 to give his speech at the United Nations and will say mass at the Madison Square Garden. His six days trip in the U.S. will end in Philadelphia wherein he is scheduled to visit the Independence Mall.
