Paul Walker, who starred in the 'Fast & Furious' series, died in a car crash in California on November 30, 2013. Investigation shows that he was a passenger in a Porsche sports car driven by a friend, Roger Rodas - who also died during the incident. The actor was said to be attending a charity event at that time.
After the tragic accident happened speculations broke out that Walker and Rodas had been drag racing against a second vehicle before the car collided into trees and a pole. However, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department dismissed the reports according to The Independent.
Officials also ruled out speculation that the accident had been caused by a mechanical failure.
Rodas is said to be driving between 80 to 93mph at that time in a 45mph zone when he lost control of the vehicle.
"Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions," Commander Mike Parker told The Independent.
"The vehicle had no mechanical failure and the damage that occurred to the vehicle was from the collision," Parker added.
