'Divergent' Author Veronica Roth Weighs In On New 'Allegiant' Movie Titles, Hints Changes in the Movie That Fans May Not Like

"Divergent" author Veronica Roth recently reacted to the change in titles for "Allegiant - Part 1" and "Allegiant - Part 2." On her Tumblr account, Roth hinted on the possibility of the films having more changes other than just its titles.

"What does this mean? Well, basically it means there are going to be some changes, but it's really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them," she said.

Roth also hinted on the possibility of fans not liking the upcoming changes from the book to the movie.

"I know changes always make fans of the books - and the author! - nervous, but hopefully the character we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys," she wrote.

Meanwhile, the official titles for the upcoming two films have been changed to "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" and "The Divergent Series: Ascendant." Additionally, a new logo for the two films have also been released online.

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" now has the tagline, "Break the boundaries of your world." "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" has the tagline, "The end is never what you expect," according to E! News.

In other news, "Allegiant" will continue to feature Theo James as Four and Shailene Woodley as Tris. Other cast members include Miles Teller, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort and more.

Towards the end of the "Divergent" franchise, Roth already confirmed that Woodley's character Tris will be killed off. Although fans petitioned for the movie's ending to be made different than the book's ending, Roth said that they have decided to stick to the original storyline. Roth said that Tris' death will be essential to the franchise's story as well as the character's journey.

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Mar. 18, 2016.
