The stunning model Candice Swanepoel accidentally fell to her knees, nearly falling flat on her face, on the runway at the Givenchy spring-summer 2016 show during the New York Fashion Week.
According to E! Online, the 26-year-old Victoria's Secret Angel from South Africa was lucky enough to not break her ankle. She did however have a few nasty scrapes on her knees. When it happened, she was clad in a semi-sheer black three-fourths dress and stiletto red and black fringed ankle boots. And as the saying goes "The show must go on," Swanepoel simply laughed it off as she continued to graciously walk down the catwalk adjusting her outfit seconds after security men helped her stand up. The Daily Mail has a video of her nasty fall.
She later on bravely posted a photo of her poor scraped bloody knees on Instagram with a caption, "Thank you to who ever picked me up off the runway tonight," she wrote. "Left with little scratches but mostly a bruised ego. #ohwell."
Some celebrities were there in the crowd, witnessing the fallen angel's mishap. Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West, Ciara and Nicki Minaj were there. Kim's sister, Kendall Jenner also walked the catwalk.
Prior to scraping her knees at that rough aisle, Swanepoel was seen at Rihanna's New York Fashion Week party wearing sexy black leather outfit. Her engagement ring was hard to miss. The supermodel is finally engaged to longtime boyfriend Hermann Nicoli. They have been together for 10 years since they met in Paris when she was only 17 years old.
The model has recently shared with E! News about learning how to get through the woes of long distance relationships. She said, "You don't have to have your loved one with you. You can go out with the girls, have a good time. It's also a good excuse if you have a crush on somebody to use that as the day to let them know."
If she was able to successfully handle a long distance relationship, she sure can handle a scraped knee.
