Bob Howry Net Worth: Former Chicago Cubs Pitcher Sells off Home

Retired MLB pitching ace Bob Howry has placed his home located in Peoria, AZ on the market. According to a report from the LA Times, the price of the home is pegged at $2.85 million.

The home was designed by architect Barry Goldstein in the desert contemporary style. Built exclusively for the MLB closer, the horizontal rooflines and floor to ceiling windows as well as textured colored stone exterior makes the home stand out amongst the other homes in the area.

The home has an open space floor plan where the central area is the living room with its fireplace on one wall and opening into a center island breakfast and kitchen area. The other rooms include a formal dining room, a gym, a formal office and the living quarters, consisting of five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The master suite has its own fireplace and soaking tub all within 8,771 square feet of space.

The property is ensconced in a sprawling one acre estate and has other amenities such as a step-up spa, multiple fireplaces and a negative-edge swimming pool that opens to the beach. There are also large lawns, landscaping as well as a putting green on the grounds.

The Howrys purchased the property back in 2005 for $330,000. With all the upgrades, the property is being sold for $2.85 million and is listed under West USA Realty's Tina Waggoner.

His last contract was with the Arizona Diamondbacks for $2 million in 2010, after playing for the Chicage White Sox for four years, the Boston Red Sox for a year, the Cleveland Indians for a year, the Chicage Cubs for three and the San Francisco Giants for a year, according to his stat sheet on Baseball-Reference. His net worth was not disclosed but after retiring in 2010, he had other business interests where he earned his keep.
