The world's largest spokeless Ferris Wheel, "shi lai yun zhuan," which means "turn of fortune," is under construction in Bauhinia (Zijing) Park in Changzhou, China. Located in the east province of Jiangsu, the wheel will measure 89 meters high and will weigh around 3000 tons. The wheel looks like a giant ring and will spin without spokes.

The $23.8 million project is wrapping up construction and is slated to start operating by June 2013. The Ferris wheel is an effort to boost the country's tourism, reports Car News China.

Currently, the largest Ferris Wheel in the world is located in Singapore, which is 165 meters tall. The largest spokeless wheel is "The Big O" in Tokyo which is around 60 meters tall. The "turn of fortune" will almost be 24 meters taller than the "Big O".

A Ferris wheel is a large non-building structure that comprises of upright passenger cars attached to its surface. The cars are held upright by gravity. These wheels can be spotted in fairs and amusement parks.
