Before "Scorpion" comes back for Season 2, showrunners have discussed about Walter (Elyes Gabel) and Paige (Katherine McPhee) entering a romantic relationship after Walter's near-death accident.
In the Season 1 finale, Walter endangered himself after jumping off a cliff. Although he was saved from death, he obtained some major injuries and was brought to a hospital. Executive producer Nick Wootton revealed in an interview that in Season 2, fans will be seeing the team having a break while Walter is in rehab. Wootton said that Happy (Jadyn Wong), Sylvester (Ari Stidham), and Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) won't be handling the break pretty well and he added that the "team don't exactly have the same focus apart as they do together."
According to Christian Post, the group won't be disbanded for long because in the premiere episode, fans will be seeing Walter having already recovered from his injuries. While he is recovering, he discovers that Paige gave him a kiss while he was unconscious. This could mean a lot of things, and it reportedly could lead to them entering a romantic relationship in the upcoming season.
Wootton said that Paige is already in the point where she thinks she have feelings for Walter and could not deny that she did kiss him. He added that fans will be seeing how Walter will react to it and how he will be affected emotionally.
Meanwhile, Cartermatt reported that according to the official synopsis for Season 2, Sylvester will be going to federal prison to work as an undercover to help save the life of three judges. However, it was reported that his life will be endangered inside, and the team must work fast to get him out of trouble.
"Scorpion" Season 2 will air on CBS on September 21.
