'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date & News: Game to be the Last Title to Feature Sora, as Hinted by Director Nomura? New World, Multiplayer Rumors Here

The "Kingdom Hearts" franchise has always aimed to please its players' desires and tickle their excitement; thus, major changes to the game shouldn't come as a surprise. Will "Kingdom Hearts 3" be the last to feature the well-loved Sora as the main character?

Design & Trend reports that this might be possible since Sora would be taking on "smaller roles" in the future titles of the franchise. The director Tetsuya Nomura has also hinted that other characters such as the Foretellers, Chirithy, and Ephemera of "Kingdom Hearts Unchained X" will get major storylines, begging the question of where Sora will fit in all the future titles. Nomura has also shared that these characters are representative of the future of the game.

What else can fans expect from "Kingdom Hearts 3?" According to a report by Christian Today, a new world care of Pixar might be in the works. Rumors have been ignited regarding this, thanks to a LinkedIn profile of an alleged Square Enix game designer who's based in Osaka, Japan.

His profile states that he has been meeting up with Disney and Pixar under "Kingdom Hearts 3" and that a mysterious "Kingdom Hearts 2.9" is already underway. The same profile also shares about the multiplayer possibility of the game. Are these major developments that were meant to be under wraps? If so, then these definitely got the fans' excitement up!

"Kingdom Hearts 3" for Xbox One and Playstation 4 will be released during winter of 2016, according to Yibada. Fans can wait for an official announcement at the D23 Expo in Japan on November 6 to 8. It is expected that "Kingdom Hearts" will take center stage at the upcoming event.
