The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" sisters were all flawlessly glammed up as they took the stage at the Apple Store in SoHo, New York City this Monday, Sept. 14. Their agenda: to unveil their new mobile applications and websites.
The Kardashian-Jenner family business, which started out from their hit reality TV show, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," has spread into a wide array of products, ranging from clothes, perfumes, hair extensions, to socks--and now--personalized apps for each of the sisters.
Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie are known to share juicy details of their lives on television and social media, where they have a strong 174.6 million combined followers on Instagram. But if that's not enough, their new website-apps are here to document each of their lives.
"We wanted to change our digital platform and make it more than just a blog that we had before," Kim said during the event. "I just felt like there was no other platform that could do it all unless we do it ourselves."
Kim pointed out that even though they are sisters, all five of them have different passions. The apps, one for each sibling, will highlight these interests.
Kim's will feature fashion and selfies. Kourtney's will focus on mommy tips. Khloe, who just had a significant weight loss, will document her fitness journey. Their supermodel sister Kendall will show off her runway adventures, and Kylie's app will dish out her beauty secrets.
Keeping up with them will not be free, however. The apps will be free for seven days only, but succeeding subscriptions will cost you $2.99 per month. For Kim, this is a way for them to interact with fans, minus the trolls and haters.
"Hopefully we can try to come up with comment control or something that would make it a happy, uplifting place and not a negative place, because I don't think that's good for anybody's soul," Kim said.
This isn't Kim's first venture into the app business. Last year, Fortune reported that her mobile game, "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" raked in more than $74 million.
