Rumiko Takahashi's ‘RIN-NE’ Manga Gets 2nd Anime Season Scheduled in Spring 2016

Rumiko Takahashi's 'RIN-NE' manga gets a 2nd anime season but the schedule will be in spring 2016. The first season of the anime series is about to finish on Saturday.

This news has been first revealed in NHK Anime blog. Fandom Post reiterates that the Rin-ne anime series has been given a green light for season 2. The upcoming season, which will be launched in Spring 2016, will also have 25 episodes like its first season run. "The series wraps up its Japanese home video releases in February, making it an ideal spring launch."

According to the report, the series will also be helmed by Seiki Sugawara while Michiko Yokote will pen the script for the Rin-ne anime season 2. The voice cast includes " Kaito Ishikawa as Rinne Rokudo, Marina Inoue as Sakura Mamiya, Hitomi Nabatame as Rokumon, Satsuki Yukino as Tamako, Kappei Yamaguchi as Sabato Rokudo, Ryohei Kimura as Tsubasa Jūmonji, Tetsuya Kakihara as Masato, Sora Tokui as Miho, Aya Suzaki as Rika and Tesshô Genda as Narrator."

Anime News Network states that Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday 41st issue has released a teaser last Wednesday telling that on its 42nd issue, there would be an important announcement, which has the following text:

"The shinigami (god of death) Rinne Rokudō, and Sakura Mamiya, the girl who can see ghosts, attend the same school. The two spend their days solving the worries of spirits. Rinne is so poor that he is forced to borrow money from Sakura to buy shinigami tools to solve their cases. Rinne and Sakura care for each other, but their relationship is not progressing. However, with the appearance of a new contracted black cat, a beautiful damashigami (cheating god), and a person with whom Rinne shares a special circumstance, the situation becomes even more chaotic! Rinne and Sakura's after-school time wrapped up in the world of spirits continues!"

The Rin-ne Anime series season 1 premiered on April 4, 2015 via public broadcaster NHK's E Tele channel aside from "Crunchy Roll streams the series as it airs in Japan." But, Sentai Filmworks gets the rights in releasing the anime series in North America.

Crunchy Roll reports that starting next month the 6 months break will begin, and then the serialization of "Rin-ne" will continue in Spring next year. It has also been mentioned via NHK's Anime World+ Blog that new characters will be introduced in season 2. However, the voice cast of the characters of Oboro, Suzu, and Renge Shima are still being kept under wraps.

Crunchyroll audiences in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America can now view The RIN-NE Anime season 1 while waiting for its season 2 next year.
