Ellen Page wasn't alone when she graced the Toronto International Film Festival last Sunday night; she brought with her a special plus one who had her confessing her love, E! Online reports.
The actress walked the red carpet for the premiere of her latest film "Freeheld" with her girlfriend Samantha Thomas. Apparently, this was the very first time that couple has ever graced the red carpet together. And why tonight?
"I'm inlove!" Page confesses to E! Online.
This current project was something close to Page which is why it seemed like right time for their glamorous debut. According to Page, "walking down the carpet holding my girlfriend's hand is pretty special." "It's pretty awesome," she added.
Page and Thomas both looked equally awesome in their tuxedo ensembles. Page sported a black Saint Laurent number paired with tight black pants, black boots, and a skinny tie.
At the premiere event, Ruby Rose, a close friend of Page was gushing about her friend's latest project.
"When your best friend is the most talented, funny, beautiful, generous, humble human being it's hard to not smile until it hurts," she wrote on Instagram. "Ellen, I am so proud of you and will always be grateful for everything you are and will always be to me."
She also posted a photo where she posed with Page and Thompson where she mentioned their chic looks. "When you're not sure if you're a YSL Campaign or really stylish waiters," Rose joked on Instagram.
"Freeheld" is a drama film based on the 2007 documentary short film of the same name about police officer Laurel Hester's fight against the Ocean County, New JerseyBoard of Chosen Freeholders to allow her pension benefits to be transferred to her domestic partner after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was directed by Peter Sollett and written by Ron Nyswaner. Page stars the film alongside Julian Moore, Steve Carell, Luke Grimes, and Michael Shannon.
