There's no doubt that "The Walking Dead" is one of the most popular TV shows today, if not of all time. It has a huge fan base and with a show this big, there will always be rumors. True enough, there was a momentary panic for the fans of TWD as rumors circulated that Andrew Lincoln, who plays the main protagonist Rick Grimes, is leaving the show, moviepilot.com reports.
According to OK! Magazine, Andrew himself, who is from England, asked to end his character in the show to see his family so they don't have to travel halfway across the world to see him:
"Andrew Lincoln, who plays deputy Rick Grimes, wants to be zombie feed! His rep denies it, but our sources are reporting that the actor is tired of dragging his wife and two kids from their native England to Georgia where the show shoots, so he is planning his exit."
But before you lose your mind and start whaling about the thought that Rick is going to be killed off in "The Walking Dead", Gossip Cop has since debunked the rumors and issued the following statements:
"Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for [Andrew] Lincoln, who tells us that there's 'no truth' to the tabloid's story about him wanting to leave the show."
Apparently, Andrew is not going anywhere and he is still more than happy to have the helm of "The Walking Dead."
But did you know that Robert Kirkman, creator of TWD, revealed to Reddit AMA that he actually considered killing off Rick in the comic books:
"I honestly considered killing Rick in issue 6 and making the comic about Carl having to grow up with this guy he saw kill his father. But in the end, I decided against it. That was never the plan, but it was a thought that popped up that I entertained while I was writing issue 6."
"The Walking Dead" Season 6 will be back October 11th on AMC. And don't expect Rick Grimes to be killed off any time soon.
