"Game of War: Fire Age" mobile strategy game has launched a new ad that shows a dragon being shot out of the sky by a flaming arrow from Mariah Carey.
Mariah Carey is the new face of "Game of War" advertisement as her first commercial as a warrior queen came out online on Monday. The 45-year-old singer-actress has replaced supermodel Kate Upton which was announced in June. Upton has done several commercials for the "Game of War" franchise, even appearing on a spot for Superbowl. According to Mashable, Machine Zone, the developer responsible for the hit mobile game has never been shy on spending money on its advertising campaigns which has allowed them to keep their spot in the highest grossing games in the App Store since the start of 2015.
In a report by The Verge, the trailer for "Game of War: Fire Age" is one of the most awaited as fans and critics of the game are eager to see what role Carey is going to play or how she will be featured compared to her supermodel predecessor. Running time of the commercial is only a minute but initial reviews say the "Hero" singer definitely nailed her character for the game ad.
The sequence begins with two soldiers who are trapped helpless in the middle of a battle. They look around them and they see waves of enemies barreling towards them with no rescue in sight. One of them whips out his iPhone and presses the help icon. But it seems they are destined for doom as nothing happens. He tries again but it seems more enemies are coming instead plus a ferocious fire-breathing dragon has locked on to their position for the kill. And then at the height of the song "Hero," a blazing arrow shoots from out of nowhere and strikes the dragon. It's Mariah Carey!
