Death Note 2016 Live Action: A “Forbidden Sequel” to the Previous Live Action Movies, L’ Successor, Second True Kira, and the Six-Note Rule

The finale episode of the hit Death Note-Live Action Series marks the beginning of the anticipation for the much-awaited 'forbidden sequel' of the Death Note Live Action Movie.

The Death Note 2016 is the working title of the Death Note Live Action Movie that to be launched on 2016 to coincide with the tenth year anniversary of its predecessors "Death Note", "Death Note 2: The Last Name" and the Spin-off movie "L Change the World".

The new sequel of the Death Note film will be set 10 years after "L Change the World" according to Death Note News.

Six Death Notes were dropped in our world following the Six-Note Rule that was introduced in the manga. In the report of Zaikei News the rule states that 'Only six Death Notes are allowed to exist simultaneously in the human world. Of course, the Death Note in Shinigami's own possession does not count. Therefore, only six Shinigami that have passed on their Death Note to humans can stay in the human world.'

According to Anime News Network, new charismatic figures, who inherited the DNA of Light (previously played Tatsuya Fujiwara) and the detective L (Ken'ichi Matsuyama), will emerge. The successors of the two geniuses will wage a war over six Death Notes on Earth.

The movie will be directed by Shinsuke Sato, who worked on "GANTZ" or "Toshokan Senso" series.

The 'Death Note' manga achieved the total number of 30 million copies worldwide and its live action film "Death Note" in 2006 with two parts "Death Note" and "Death Note 2: The Last Name" made more than 8 billion yen at the box office.

The film also acquired global attention and together with the spin-off movie "L change the World", it was released in more than 60 countries and regions.

The live-action drama starring Masataka Kubota has started broadcasting in Japan last July, right after that, it was announced that the drama would also be aired and distributed in 127 countries and regions, which proved its worldwide popularity.
