'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 Air Date & Spoilers: Jamie Chung Returns; EP Reveals Back Story For New Characters

On Tuesday this week, "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 announced a returning character to its cast as Jamie Chung was confirmed to reprise her role as Mulan in the show's upcoming season.

According to International Business Times, co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed the news through his Twitter account.

However, the creator did not reveal Mulan's role in the upcoming season or how she will be coming back to the show. Horowitz only revealed that the character will appear in more than one episode, and they are reportedly planning to include her in both Season 5A and Season 5B.

It was reported that the last time the viewers saw the warrior princess in the show was in Season 3. She appeared when Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) followed her and Aurora (Sarah Bolger) when she tried to save Prince Phillip (Julian Morris).

The twist in the story was that Mulan had hidden feelings for Aurora, and when Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) asked her to join his men, she was forced to join the group after Aurora revealed to her that she was pregnant with Philipp's child. After that, it was reported that no one saw Mulan again, and fans seem to be happy that she will be coming back in the new season.

Meanwhile, Design & Trend reported that Horowitz, along with co-creator Eddy Kitsis, revealed some hints about the Season 5 storylines, most especially about the new characters in the show. Kitsis revealed that the main mission of the story is to look for Merlin (Elliot Knight), so the group of Mary Margaret will travel to Camelot to find him.

The creators also revealed that there will be back stories of the different characters like King Arthur (Liam Garrigan), Guinevere (Joana Metrass) and Lancelot (Sinqua Walls). Kitsis said, "There's absolutely going to be King Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot origin stories."

"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 will premiere on ABC on September 27.
