'Warcraft' Movie Spoilers & Release Date: Director Jones Planning a ‘Trilogy'

The much-awaited movie adaptation of the popular online game "World of Warcraft" is already in post-production status. It was supposed to be released this year but the movie's debut was pushed to June 10, 2016. To add to the hype, Director Duncan Jones has spilled some noteworthy details of the movie "Warcraft."

First and foremost, Director Jones has recently hinted that there isn't going to be just one "Warcraft" movie but it is going to be most likely a trilogy. In his recent appearance at Comic-Con, Director Jones said, "I personally worked very closely with Chris Metzen [Blizzard's senior vice president of storytelling and franchise development]. We worked out that if we did get a chance to do three films to tell the story, this would be the first piece and we kind of have an idea of what we would do with 2 and 3. I want to be the guy to deliver that."

Being a "World of Warcraft" fan himself, Director Duncan Jones want viewers to understand both sides, the Alliance and Horde sides. Telling a story from both sides won't possibly fit in one movie alone so this makes the "World of Warcraft" fans that there indeed is going to be more to come. According to Den of Geek, Director Jones has said, "My big pitch to Blizzard when I became involved with this was that I want to make a war movie and I want to tell it from both sides. I want heroes on both sides, and I want you to empathize with both sides. The heroes from both sides are going to find themselves in a conflict that there is no way out of." He added, "There's certainly a Horde side and an Alliance side, and that is integral to what makes Warcraft what it is".

The "Warcraft" movie will cast Travis Fimmel as Sir Anduin Lothar, Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Toby Kebbell as Orc chieftain Durotan, Rob Kazinsky as Orgrim Doomhammer, and Paula Patton as Garona Halforcen among others. According to IGN, this movie has been in the works since 2006. Fans can expect a good portrayal of Azeroth and the characters that gamers have become accustomed to since the game was released more than a decade ago. Even if the subscribers of the MMORPG has dwindled lately, fans of "World of Warcraft" are still excited to finally see this movie in the big screen.
