Samsung May Release Foldable Smartphone In January

Samsung may have taken a lot of time to work on a handset that is not only oozing with high specs, but is also foldable. Years have passed since the idea was considered, and now it seems like we may already be closer to the release of such a futuristic mobile phone. No, we're not only talking about stone-aged flip top phone, but an actual foldable screen, see image here.

Strong rumors say that the bendable device will be arriving by the first month of next year. It was also said that the phone model will come in two versions; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 chipset phone; and a higher version using Snapdragon 820.

Both of the phone models will carry a big 3 GB of RAM and built in batteries. The phones will also have a micro SD slot for additional storage. But the thing is, although the insider for these rumors seems like a non-amateur, verifications may still be necessary.

January seems like the most possible release for this phone as the "Galaxy S7" is already set to come out by February's end. It is a big possibility that the tech giant would want to get the foldable phone concept out of the way to clear the area for the release of their flagship phone.

If this foldable phone ever arrives, it would be best to have it as an alternate selection for the S7 according to TechRadar. But it can also be an entirely separate phone.

It was in 2014 when the foldable smartphone was first shown, and if the current images are accurate, there might be a few differences from the 2014 prototype that was less curved than the current one.

The ambitious goals Samsung has set to its next smartphones is quite undeniable. And if this phone really happens to come along, it should mark the new era of smart devices that can adjust to folds and bends without sacrificing quality and purpose.
