Since its debut on December 8, 2005, Ryu Ga Gotoku or Yakuza and have truly given a paramount success to one of Japan's gaming giant, Sega. In order to celebrate such success, Sega announced during Sony's TGS 2015 press conference in Tokyo that it will soon release a high definition remake of the first version of Yakuza. The said remake would be available within Japan's market on January 21, 2016. However, there is a little twist when it comes to Yakuza remake, for people who still own older versions of gaming platforms-- an upgrade would be needed according to Sega. For the high definition Yakuza remake is only intended for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 platforms.
Aside from the said Yakuza remake, fans of the said game would also be enticed to purchase another new series of Yakuza, and this time around it would be Yakuza 6. In line with the 10th anniversary of the franchise, Sega announced that Yakuza 6 is progress and would soon be released. Though Yakuza 6 release date has not been specifically given, the gaming company still indicated that Yakuza 6 will be available in fall 2016 in Japan. While Yakuza 6 release date has not been fully established, Sega on the other hand confirmed that the new series of Yakuza would only be playable with a PS4 platform. This according to some gaming enthusiasts is Sega and Sony's way of pushing gamers to purchase the latest gaming platform available. But for a pro-gamer and true Ryu Ga Gotoku fan, platform change would not be an issue.
We can pretty much assume and make some theories on Yakuza 6 release date and some of the series' new updates. We can as well scrutinize the costly affair related to Yakuza exclusivity of platform; however, one thing remains for sure, Yakuza 6 would surely be a successful hit.
