Zillow Mortgages quoted that Mortgage rates for 30-year fixed mortgages rose this week with the current rate borrowers at 3.75 percent, up 1 basis point from last week. Before rising to the current rate Tuesday, the 30-year- fixed mortgage rate hovered around 3.73 percent throughout the week.
"Mortgage rates held steady last week," said Erin Lantz, vice president of mortgages at Zillow. "We expect rates to remain calm leading up to Thursday's Federal Open Market Committee statement as markets eagerly anticipate any signal or action from the Fed on interest rates."

The 30-year fixed rate mortgage loans are available at a national average interest rate of 3.79%, according to Bankrate.com. While the interest rates for 15-year fixed rate mortgages are stable at 3.03% on April 24th, 2015.
U.S. Finance Post said the interest rate for a 30-year fixed rate loan with Bank of America is 3.625 percent, whereas a 15-year fixed rate loan is 2.875 percent. In addition to its new purchase mortgages, Bank of America's 30-year fixed rate refinance loan is available at 4.000 percent interest, and a 15-year refinance mortgage is available at an interest rate of 3.125 percent.
Chase is offering 3.625 percent interest with 0.625 points for its 30-year fixed rate mortgage, while its 15-year fixed rate loan is available at 2.875% interest with 1.125 points. The bank is quoting an interest rate of 3.875% with 0.875 points for its 30-year fixed rate refinance loan and 3.125 percent interest with 1.000 points for its 15-year fixed rate refinance loan.
The 30-year fixed rate mortgage loan for new homes with Wells Faro has an interest rate of 3.875 percent, whereas its 15-year fixed rate mortgage for new homes is available at 3.125 percent interest.
