An anchor for WCBS-TV in New York, Rob Morrison, is facing charges after attempting to strangle his wife following a domestic dispute at their home in Connecticut, the station confirmed Monday.
The report says that Morrison's mother-in-law called police to the couple's home early Sunday morning. He had been fighting with his wife, CBS financial news anchor Ashley Morrison, throughout the night and ended up with his hands wrapped around her neck, leaving red marks, they said.
The wife did not seek medical attention but was in shock over the incident. Morrison posted $100,000 bond, and is slated to appear in court later today. He faced charges of strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct.
In a statement, the Morrisons said they were "cooperating fully with the authorities to insure that all of the information necessary to properly evaluate this unfortunate incident is made available. The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this matter will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated."
