Dave Matthews Did Not Purchase Lavish $6.5 Million Mansion in Malibu

Reports were making the rounds online that singer Dave Matthews had purchased a lavish home in Malibu, but his representatives have spoken out, claiming the reports are untrue.

The Real Estalker reported that the singer-songwriter shelled out $6.575 million on a stunning 1.7 acres home in Malibu California. The European country-style mansion features French doors, hardwood floors, and ceilings with beams of rural white oak. It features six bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, an additional 900-square-foot guesthouse.

The musician has a home in Seattle and extensive land in Charlottesville, Va., with a winery and recording studio, Zillow notes. He also owns Blenheim Vineyards, located in the Southern town.

Dave Matthews Band frontman has been successful in his decade long singing career, making in $500 million from concerts alone.

Matthews is married and has 3 children, twin girls Stella and Grace and son August. The family live in Seattle where they are happy and settled with no plans to move anytime soon.

We haven't had a conversation about relocating school systems, which is really the big [question]," he told GeneStout in August.

"It hasn't come to the dining room table. So at the moment, the only middle schools we're looking at are in the Seattle area. That's the only way I can answer that question."

Continuing, "We really do love Seattle, and we've got a great community up there. It's a great city... For the most part, I feel comfortably middle class in Seattle."
