Actors Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were recently spotted in Prague, dressed in elaborate French attires, confirming that filming for the second season of their hit show "Outlander" is well on its way. Local Czech fans snapped photos with the stars and posted their excitement on social media.
Inquisitr reported that the photos suggest that Jamie and Claire, Heughan and Balfe's characters, may have a "completely different look" for season 2. While season 1 showed them in earthy tones and heavy wool, we might see them in high-class Parisian parties in the next season.
When the show wrapped up last May, "Outlander" executive producer Ronald D. Moore spoke with E! Online about the show's new direction.
"French society, its Aristocracy, the colors are brighter. You're talking about fine linens and silks, you're talking about gilt chandeliers, you know, everything that your mind conjures up when you say Versailles or Paris of that era," the producer explained. "Suddenly our characters who lived in a Scottish world for all of Season 1 are in that world, so it's going to look and feel very different, which is exciting, you know."
Just last Sunday, Sept. 13, Moore held a Q&A bit with the show's fans on Twitter. One fan asked a general question about season two's production, and Moore answered: "Really well. Show looks amazing, cast is superb, story working - very optimistic."
The producer also didn't hold back on dishing out specific details. "Will Roger appear in season 2?" one fan asked. To which he replied, "Yes."
Another fan asked about the one announcement they all wanted to hear: when will the second season premiere?
While Moore said the date has not been set "officially," he told them to "look for March or April."
"Outlander" is a British-American series based from the novels of Diana Gabaldon. It aired its first season on Starz.
