Four dead in a California shooting spree which left three victims dead as well as the gunman have been after an early morning shooting spree that lasted almost half an hour in Tustin, California.
Another two people have been left with injuries, authorities say. The shooting spree began around 5:20 a.m. PT, when Orange County sheriff's deputies first responded to a home in Ladera Ranch, where the shooter is believed to have killed a woman.
The gunman is believed to have then headed north in an SUV, where three carjackings were reported in Santa Ana and Tustin. The gunman was reported to have fired several times, killing another two people.
A car chase ensued which resulted in the gunman, who was in his 20s, to shoot himself after the police officers got him to stop his vehicle.
Police have not yet said if and what was the relationship between the gunman and his three victims.
A spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol said they didn't have any active crime scenes on the freeway but the southbound 55 McFadden Avenue off-ramp would be closed until further notice.
Tustin is about 35 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
