"World of Tanks" has attained tons of success on the PC, Xbox, and on mobile, so the developers' decision to have a Playstation 4 release for the game comes as a pleasant surprise.
NOW Gamer reports that it already has 150 million players worldwide, and the source jokes that the game really does want a "world" of tanks.
The game has been described as a "free-to-play and free-to-win mega hit that's easy to pick up and a challenge to master" by Playstation Lifestyle. The source also shares that its PS4 release will also include exclusive content and game features.
The makers of "World of Tanks" Wargaming say that "complete DualShock 4 functionality means players will feel, hear, and touch the battle like never before by incorporating light bar and controller speaker capabilities, as well as touch pad support."
"World of Tanks" PS4 release will also include two new maps that will only be available for a limited time. Members of Playstation Plus will also get free camouflage as well as a premium tank. It will also support PS4 features such as Dualshock 4 controllers, Share Play, and Vita Remote Play, among others. The makers have made sure that the game is optimized for the console.
"World of Tanks" was first released back in August 2010 by Belarus and Cyprus-based company, Wargaming. It debuted as an e-sport game at the World Cyber Games 2012. The game has consistently gotten high ratings from revered critics, and it is now one of the highest-grossing online games.
