Can gamers expect to grab their hands on a Playstation 5 or an Xbox 2 soon? Given that technology is developing and changing at blazing speeds, it wouldn't be surprising if new and revolutionary gaming consoles would be available in the near future. Robbie Bach, the former head of Xbox, believes that an Xbox Two or a Playstation 5 would be part of a "new generation" of gaming consoles.
Pocket Lint shares that Bach isn't entirely sure how the Xbox One will go about improving the current model, but he shares his piece on how these consoles will look like in the future. He said, "Does it have physical media? Probably not, so how does that look? Is it just a game box or is it more? What's the balance between what an Apple TV is and what an Xbox or a PlayStation 4 is? These are really interesting questions, and the teams [are] going to have to wrestle with those."
He believes that the "new generation" will go beyond its call of duty of becoming just a gaming console.
However, one should also keep in mind that Bach's words are merely speculations and insights. Geekwire questions Bach's integrity with his "predictions" as the source recalls Bach's statements regarding the Kin smartphone. He previously said that it "may have been the best business plan I saw in my 22 years at Microsoft." The Kin smartphone was a huge failure on Microsoft's end, and it barely made a dent in the smartphone market.
Meanhile, Bach has recently released a book titled "Xbox Revisited," which talks about his experience working on the Xbox. He also provides tips on corporate and civil renewal in the book. For full synopsis, go to his official website.
