'Attack On Titan' Game: New Trailer Shows Off Tactical Hunting; Video Is 'Metal As Hell' and Super Gory

Game developer Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer for its upcoming video game "Attack on Titan." The first gameplay trailer was shown during the SCEJA Press Conference 2015 Asia Session, a report from iDigital Times said on Thursday.

"The new 'Attack on Titan' gameplay trailer retains the characteristic look of the 'Attack on Titan' anime almost perfectly, even as characters dash forward and dart around the body of Titans. The Titans are just as off-putting and horrible as they are in the 'Attack on Titan' anime as well, with their inhuman proportions, monstrous gait and blank expressions devoid of humanity. The gory spurts of blood that gush forth from Titans as the player characters slice and dice their way towards the Titans' vulnerable neck spot are sure to satisfy fans disappointed by the lackluster last entry in Attack on Titan video games," the report said.

It was said that the new trailer showcases the game's overall style, including its first-engine gameplay. Aside from this, the new fighting game looks very similar to the "Attack on Titan" anime. In fact, the gameplay was described as action-packed with so much "tactical hunting action."

It can be recalled that Koei Tecmo wants players to be skillfull like Captain Levi based on its iconic "Tital-takedown" scenes. The trailer also shows new actions that player will be able to use in the game such as the 3D Maneuver Gear, which they can use to zip freely in the sky while fighting with Titans, as well as the aforementioned tactical hunting action.

"In a cruel battlefield where the state of battle is constantly changing, the result of the player's strategy has a direct connection to moving forward. In a game that offers high tactical freedom, the thrill of hunting action and fighting giant bosses are fused together to provide a new sense of battle never seen before in a video game. Depending on the tactical situation, you can proceed slowly and carefully or challenge the titan without warning. The player's actions affect the direction of battle in a big way. This is hunting action in a new form," PlayStation Lifestyle reports, describing the game's tactical hunting action.

"Attack on Titan" is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in Japan this winter and in North America and Europe in 2016.
