There are rumors that with only nine episodes for the last season of "Downtown Abbey", Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) might find love before the end of this final season. According to The Mirror, she seemed to have dropped a hint during a footage aired on This Morning when she was asked about Henry Talbot as a potential love interest. Crawley said, "There definitely is a chemistry between him and Lady Mary. At the moment it's looking good but we will have to see."
Henry joined "Downtown Abbey" on its Christmas special last year, according to IBT. And Mary had acted rude towards him for being an uninvited guest. But towards to the end of the episode, she lightened up. Henry, played by Matthew Goode from "The Good Wife", will reappear in Season 6 but it is still unclear if there would be any sort of romance between him and the widow. In line with this, Dockery has told Metro, "What appears to be a good relationship for Mary, seemingly moving in the right direction, takes a cruel turn that sends Mary to a dark place again."
Going back to her interview in This Morning, Dockery has also noted that Henry won't be the only man in Mary's life as she is "never short of a suitors" and hinted there could be one or two more.
ON the other hand, Gareth Neame, the executive producer of the show has admitted that Mary will be dating in the final season but fans would have to watch the final season to discover if Mary will truly love again."To use modern parlance, she's gone on a few dates, but that's inconclusive," he told TV Guide back in August. "I'm interested in exploring this territory because she's older than she was in the early seasons and she's been married and she's a widow. For anyone who's been divorced or widowed, entering into a second marriage is so much more complicated than an initial relationship. It's much more complicated."
