When the Vision Gran Turismo was revealed in digital form weeks ago, Bugatti has rolled out the reality at Frankfurt Motor Show. While the car show won't be going anywhere, the carbon-fiber racer does serve as a design language between the Veyron and Bugatti's next super sports car.
Gizmag said Bugatti has firmly grounded in reality its Vision Grand Turismo so that every component will have a real performance function, such as the NACA air intake on the roof that directs air into the engine at roof level without distracting the air flow of the rear wing.
The practical design features of Vision Gran Turismo include the eight-eye headlights that flank the Bugatti horseshoe symbol on its front grille. The headlights were designed to perform an aerodynamic function by acting as air intakes to cool the brakes. Bugatti engineers calculate that the Bugatti Gran Turismo will run at a maximum speed of over 400 km/hr (250 mph) on the straights.
The digital download of virtual Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo will be available soon, but in the meantime the real thing can be checked in Bugatti's gallery.
Bugatti unveils its Vision Gran Turismo at the world premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. Bugatti marks a new chapter in the luxury car's history that will culminate in the unveiling of the new Bugatti super sports car. The design of Bugatti Vision Grand Turismo owes its success to Bugatti's great racing cars of the 1920s and 1930s, particularly the victories they achieved in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Bugatti website reported that Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. says "Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is the first stage on a new journey that Bugatti is embarking on following the successful completion of its Veyron chapter, and which will culminate in the unveiling of the next Bugatti super sports car in the not too distant future."
