There may not be headless horsemen as "Sleepy Hollow" returns for Season 3, but it was confirmed that Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod (Tom Mison) will be facing new villains and monsters in the upcoming season.
According to Christian Post, a source revealed that there will be three new villains in the upcoming season. It was earlier reported that the new villains will be monsters which are new to the show. According to the report, one of the villains Abbie and Ichabod have to face is the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper. Reports reveal that Abbie and Ichabod will try to solve one of the murders of the criminal.
It was also reported that viewers will be meeting the character called "The Abyzou." Abbie and Ichabod will also face the group of the undead called Draugurs. This group was described as undead British soldiers who are under the command of General Howe. According to the report, the group's mission is to finish whatever they started some 240 years ago.
In the newly released teaser photos for Season 3 featured in Design & Trend, Abbie and Ichabod reunite to solve more cases. The report also revealed that in the premiere episode of Season 3, with the help of an old amulet, Abbie and Ichabod will be solving mysteries, and this may include the discovery of a mysterious tablet which includes a prophecy about the end of the world.
It was earlier reported that although some of the characters from the last season will be killed off or removed, Season 3 will feature newcomers which include Nikki Reed as Betsy Ross, Zach Appleman as Joe Corbin and Pandora as Shannyn Sossamon. It was also reported that a possible third wheel will be coming in between Abbie and Ichabod, as Lance Gross was cast as Abbie's ex-lover and current FBI agent boss Daniel Reynolds.
"Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 premieres on October 1.
