Iron Chef, Michael Symon Lists SoHo Penthouse for $3.5 Million

Award winning American chef/restaurateur, Michael Symon, has listed his penthouse in the SoHo neighborhood of New York on the open market with an asking price of $3.5 million.

The listing comes just a year from its purchase when Symon and wife Liz picked up the property in March 2012 for around $3 million.

The Symon couple bought the penthouse from another restaurateur-turned-entertainment-investor, Lawrence Isaacson. He had first listed the home in 2011 for $3.3 million, reports Curbed.

The penthouse is a cozy two bedroom- two bathroom space, spread across an area of 1509 square feet. Located in a designer complex built by André Balaze, the building offers 24 hours concierge and doorman services, a storage center and a modern gym.

The penthouse comprises of a large living room that features a cozy fireplace. Just adjacent to the living room is an open modern gourmet kitchen (of course!) that features built in cabinetry. A breakfast bar divides the kitchen and the living room.

A long stretching gallery leads to the master suite and the additional bedroom. The master suite features walk-in closets and a modern attached bathroom. It also has a private balcony. The additional bedroom has a huge wooden closet as well.

The residential area opens up to a 1000 square feet rooftop terrace that features a wet bar and multiple seating areas. The penthouse can be reached via a private lock elevator.

The home was featured on Wall Street Journal while Isaacson still owned it. Pictures of the home show the modern interiors and Isaacson's love for the color "blue".

Now with one of their recently purchased home on the market, Symon has purchased another penthouse for $2.8 million located at Gramercy park, New York. According to the listing records at StreetEasy, the couple purchased the home earlier in February 2013.

Symon published his first cook book, "Michael Symon's Live to Cook: Recipes and Techniques to Rock Your Kitchen" in collaboration with Michael Ruhlman, a fellow chef, in 2009.

He currently appears on TV cookery shows like "The Iron Chef America" and "Symon's Suppers". He recently made a guest appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show".
