'CSI' Finale Preview, Spoilers: Grissom and Sidle's 'Awkward' Reunion, MIA Nick, and More

Goodbyes are the worst! But in TV shows, it's better to get the chance for a goodbye than to be left with a cliffhanger after a cancellation.

With that thought in mind, you might have already heard that it's almost time to say goodbye to one of the most loved series, "CSI."

After officially getting cancelled in May, "CSI" series will tie things up with a 2 hour movie on September 27 at 9/8c on CBS. It was said that the show will involve almost all key cast from the series' 15 seasons.

Some may remain skeptical as to how some "CSI" cast will return after being gone from the show for the longest time, but the creator of the series, Anthony E. Zuiker remains confident that the final plot will allow a smooth 'blast from the past'. He shares, “We’re going to have an explosion at the Eclipse Casino, and that’s going to really unpack our cast. It’s one catastrophic event that will obviously bring back many of our CSIs... Catherine is back — this is her casino [that she partially owns]. Grissom [is] back. Sara Sidle will be heading up the case. It will bring everybody back to try and solve what’s going on."

It is also shared that Grissom and Sidle will take that two hours to deal with their 'romantic woes'. Another issue for the "CSI" finale that came up is about Nick Stokes, but Zuiker says that his absence will not be addressed in the final episode.

Fox promises that this finale will be the show's 'love letter' to its fans. Zuiker also adds that the final moments of the show will be some of the entire series' most emotional. He also teases that the last 5 minutes of the show will be as good as anything you'll ever see. 'Timeless', that's how Zuiker describes that final minutes would be, for the fans and for the long 16 years of doing the show.

"CSI" Finale episode will be on Sept.27 at CBS.
