Grey's Anatomy's 12th season trailer gives a lot of new scenes to watch out for. The new season will take place a year after Derek Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) death.
According to hollywoodlife.com, Grey's Anatomy has shown in their newest trailer that 'everything has changed' and that avid viewers can expect a "chaotic and fun" season. The trailer also shows other character's situations like Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) struggling with her two kids and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) punching someone in the face.
In the trailer, Meredith is seen running around her house with a lot of toys lying on the floor and finds her daughter using a sledgehammer on their walls. Also, Maggie raises a lot of questions after punching a woman in the face.
Though Grey Anatomy's fans are still mourning over Derek's death, Ellen said that she "can carry the show without him." She also added "It's like, Annalise Keating carries the show, Olivia Pope carries the show but somehow, Meredith Grey needs someone. Why can't I just be the lead of the show the way Annalise and Olivia can? Why can't I be on that poster by myself?"
In a report by eonline.com, Derek's death was some kind of a renovation that the show went through. Paul Lee, ABC's president, said in an interview during the 2015 Television Critics Association, "We've seen the pitch for Grey's Anatomy next season. The show reinvents itself again. It was great to see [the show] so relevant and taking the national conversation."
After the grieving 11th season, fans will have a break with a "lighter" 12th season. Shonda Rimes said "Grey's, there's a much sort of lighter tone this year that we're going for. Meredith Grey has never been defined by her relationship with a man."
Grey's Anatomy 12th season will return on Thursday, September 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
