America’s Largest Home – Versailles Resumes Construction (VIDEO)

Westgate Resort Founder, David Siegel owned "Versailles" will resume construction after being stalled for around three years. The 90,000 square feet home located in Windermere, Florida, will be the largest private property in America, once completed.

In 2008, Siegel and his wife, Jackie, planned building the biggest home in America. Construction of the home was stalled as the global recession crippled Siegel's finances. However, now that the economy and housing market is rebounding, the construction is back on track, reports MSN Today.

The partially built home featured in a documentary, "The Queen of Versailles," which premiered at the Sundance festival in 2012. When the recession hit, the wealthy couple decided to sell the incomplete structure and listed it for around $75 million in 2010. Failing to sell then, the home was price chopped to $65 million in early 2012.

Anyhow, the home didn't sell and the Siegel couple has once again embarked on the construction of their dream home.

The home's architecture is inspired by the Palace of Versailles. The place is a large single unit residence with a grand three-story foyer. Only two-thirds of the mansion has been completed. The residence will have around 13 bedrooms and 23 bathrooms with a 20 car parking space. A large kitchen will have ten smaller kitchen units. You can find the complete floor plan on Curbed.
