Drake announced that his mixtape collaboration with Future titled "What a Time to Be Alive" is now available for download on iTunes.
"Started from the Bottom" rapper Drake made an announcement on his OVO Sound radio show on Beats on Sunday that "What a Time to Be Alive" is already out on iTunes. It is his mixtape project with fellow rapper Future who worked with him on the same titled album which was also released exclusively by Apple Music. Drake called the 11-track record "a little soundtrack for people that need it right now."
According to Rolling Stone, Drake described Future like a vortex. He said the guy can outwork just about anyone in the business. He reportedly went to Atlanta for six days just to see if he can work out some songs with Future. He had nothing but praise for the rapper saying, "It's tough to see someone do four, five songs in one night and not try to match it."
In the same report by Rolling Stone, Drake also acknowledged Metro Boomin who played a big part for the majority of the production. Ernest Baker was credited for penning the title "What a Time to Be Alive." On Saturday, the rapper posted the artwork for the album which was diamond encrusted on Instagram. He included a mash-up picture of OVO Sound and Future's Freebandz logos. And on Friday, he clued in fans on the upcoming release while performing in the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta. He said, "Sunday will be madness."
And in a post by Mashable, it was reported that Drake made the big reveal just an hour before "What a Time to Be Alive" dropped on the iTunes. Early track favorites are "Diamonds Dancing," "Jumpman," "Change Locations," and "I'm the Plug." Within hours, the launch became trending on Twitter as fans began to post their opinions about the new album by Drake and Future.
