'Wonder Woman' 'Gal Gadot' Turned Down Villain Role in 'Man of Steel' and Got the Iconic Superhero Part Instead

Gal Gadot has always been known for her role as Gisele in The Fast and the Furious movies. Having said that, there are no doubts that the beautiful 30-year-old actress can pull off a role involving kicking some villain butt. However, playing Wonder Woman has still been a big surprise for her fans. It's been known for some time now that the slender actress, Gal Gadot, has been cast as the iconic superhero in the upcoming movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" together with Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. She has recently shared how she actually ended up with the super hero role.

According to Newserama, the studio that brought us Man of Steel, had their eyes on her for a villainous role. She was reportedly offered the role of Faora-Ul in Man of Steel but she turned it down and now she is thankful that she did because it helped her get the chance to play a bigger part in the Superman movie.

In addition, batman-news.com was able to translate an interview she had with Israeli website Xnet in which she has said, "When I was 4 months pregnant with (my daughter) Alma, I got an offer to play the villain character in Superman. If I wasn't pregnant I'd take the job, and there's no way they would take me now to be Wonder Woman."

After Gal got the part, the role of Faora was offered to Antje Traue instead. Some critics, however, have not been so keen and are said to be doubtful about Gadot taking on a major role such Wonder Woman. According to ischoolguide.com, a report in Outer Places has said that "she has not yet proven herself as an actress." She, however, reportedly "blew everyone away" during the audition.

She really had made a good decision when she turned down the villain part for "Man of Steel" and speaking about how some people feel about her playing Wonder Women, she told Interview, "No matter what you do, you can never please them all. People will always have something to say because that's the way people are. And it's okay. But for me, it's my job. It's my career. It's my art. Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people. And it's not just about me. It's the script and the story and the acting. I hope people are going to love it."
