Where's the best place to celebrate after winning the coveted Academy Award for Best Director? Perhaps at a swanky Los Angeles restaurant with a 5 course meal and exquisite wine? Well, that sounds tempting, but if you're Ang Lee, a delicious burger from In-N-Out will suffice.
Lee won his second Oscar for his movie "Life of Pi," the story of an Indian boy stranded on a boat with a tiger, making it his second win after his hit 2006 movie "Brokeback Mountain" scored him his first Best Director award. "Life of Pi" earned 11 Oscar nominations and walked away with four at the 85th Academy Awards. The movie won for best directing, cinematography, original score and visual effects.
Lee said he "went blank for a little while" when his name was called on Sunday night, according to CBS news.
"As I walk up, everybody seems to be very happy that we win this award," he said. "They all stood up and they cheered. They keep on cheering. And I had to give that big bow before they sit down. The energy of the room was very high. So I was very, very touched. It was genuinely a very happy moment for me."
After his win, the Taiwanese-born director head over to the popular In-N-Out burger joint to pick up a yummy burger to celebrate. A photo of Ang Lee holding his Oscar statuette while digging into an In-N-Out burger is going viral online.
Lee commented: "I'm a little tired. Holding this (Oscar statue) and taking photos for hours ... The whole place seems to be very happy when I win. And they stood up and there were cheers. So that was very touching, you know?"
