'Bloodborne: The Old Hunters' Announced Awesome New Gameplay and Weapons

In the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show, the popular PlayStation game "Bloodborne" announced its newest DLC entitled "The Old Hunters." Masaaki Yamagiwa, the game's producer, spoke with Gamespot and revealed details about the expansion pack.

"The focus of the game is as an overall expansion. We want to expand the strategies players can use in battle--more weapons, more items, that sort of thing," Yamagiwa told the game site.

The expansion pack will be a continuation of the game's main story, and will enable the players to get to know more of the game's characters and backgrounds.

"The setting for the new DLC is a nightmare where the Old Hunters have been trapped. Among the Old Hunters are people mentioned in the main story; Ludwig is a character who's mentioned in the main story. He is one of the Hunters trapped in this world. In that sense, it is an expansion of the story and you will learn more of the lore and mythos of Yharnam in the process," Yamigawa added.

According to Yamagiwa, after the release of "Bloodborne," they received a lot of requests and comments from gamers wanting to have more weapons. This new expansion addresses that issue, adding at least 15 more weapons and even costumes.

One of these new weapons was introduced during the game conference, when the producers showed a trailer for the expansion, revealing a never-seen-before weapon: a mace that transforms into a two-handed circular saw.

Popular gaming site Destructoid notes that "The Old Hunters" will be a three-stage expansion. It won't be available through sub-menus, and can only be played once the player reaches a certain point in the original game. This is in line with the producers' plan of making the game more engaging and challenging.

As for secrets within the game, Yamagiwa teased that there are still hidden things within the game that even their advanced players haven't discovered. And with the new DLC, more secrets can be uncovered.

"We promise you that we have some very fun tricks up our sleeve for the final version of the game," he teased.

"Bloodborne: The Old Hunters" will be available in November this year for $19.99.
